We’ve got new UFC rankings out, and there were plenty of changes made, some of it not necessarily because of the two events from last Saturday. One thing that is noticeable that is tied to last week’s fights is the ranking of Krzysztof Jotko, who is on the precipice of a top 10 spot at 185 after beating up Thales Leites. Jotko sits at #11, and he continues to look more and more impressive with each outing.
Full UFC rankings can be found here.
Pound-for-Pound: Khabib Nurmagomedov moves ahead of TJ Dillashaw for 14th, so Dillashaw now is at the very bottom of the top 15.
Women’s Strawweight: No changes
Flyweight: With Justin Scoggins now at 135, he’s been removed from the 125 rankings. That moved Louis Smolka, Brandon Moreno, Ray Borg, and Sergio Pettis all up to 11th-14th. Ben Nguyen re-enters the rankings at #15, as he nears his UFC Melbourne showdown vs. Geane Herrera. Kyoji Horiguchi overtook Jussier Formiga for 3rd (Formiga is now 4th), Wilson Reis went up to 5th, dropping Ian McCall down to 6th.
Women’s Bantamweight: Marion Reneau’s stoppage win over Milana Dudieva netted her an ascent from 15th to 13th. Germaine de Randamie went up a spot to 11th, sending Ashlee Evans-Smith down to 12th. Jessica Eye fell to 14th, while Katlyn Chookagian rounds out the list.
Men’s Bantamweight: Upcoming title challenge Cody Garbrandt rose to 5th, with Bryan Caraway down to 6th. Johnny Eduardo sending Manny Gamburyan into retirement earned him a bump up to 12th, with Eddie Wineland dropped to 13th. Pedro Munhoz’s dramatic win over Justin Scoggins sees him replace Rani Yahya for 15th.
Featherweight: No changes
Lightweight: No changes
Welterweight: Neil Magny is now tied for 8th with Kelvin Gastelum, whose future at 170 is very much in doubt.
Middleweight: As previously mentioned, Krzysztof Jotko is up to #11. Tim Kennedy moved up two places to #10 even though he’s not fought for more than 2 years. Thales Leites is now down to #12 from #11 after the loss to Jotko. Uriah Hall’s loss to Gegard Mousasi has sent him dropping from 10th to 13th. Dan Henderson is 14th, while Tim Boetsch is 15th.
Light Heavyweight: Lots of movement here. Rashad Evans hasn’t been able to get medical clearance to fight Tim Kennedy at 185, but in the meantime, the rankings panel is slowly dropping him out of the 205 rankings. He was once 8th, now he’s down to 14th. Nikita Krylov went up two spots to 8th, Corey Anderson rose to 9th from 11th, while Lil’ Nog only dipped down a spot to 10th after Ryan Bader thrashed him. Ilir Latifi, Patrick Cummins, and Gian Villante all were bumped to 11th-13th as a result of Rashad’s drop to 14th.
Heavyweight: Alexander Volkov’s win over Timothy Johnson sees him debut at #13, dropping Daniel Omielanczuk down to #14, and leaving Johnson off the top 15 altogether.
