Since Tiger Woods last played 16 months ago, Nike stopped making golf clubs. So that brand’s biggest ambassador over the past two decades needed to find some new tools while making sure his body was healthy enough to endure the rigors of playing competitively again.
Switching putters was the easy part. Woods has gone back to the same Scotty Cameron stick that he used to win 13 of this 14 major championships.
“Charlie (Woods’ son) knows there are two putters that he can’t touch,” Woods said. “There’s that black one I won with the trillium insert, I won the Masters in ’97, and this one. They sit next to each other. Touch any other putter, do anything you want with any other putter. These putters are off limits.”

Woods will play the Bridgestone B330S ball, says he will continue to use Nike irons and has used a TaylorMade M2 driver so far this week in his practice sessions.
“As far as equipment, that’s a very complicated one because this is the first time that I have ever used adjustable equipment,” Woods said.
“I’m trying to learn the new terminology, meanwhile trying to implement some of my old feels and some of the things that has made me successful at the same time, you know, throughout the years. And hopefully I can have some kind of amalgamation of all of that together and put together a nice little run here.”
