Texas Fumbles at the Goal Line, Texas Tech Takes It 100 Yards for Touchdown

Texas running back D’Onta Foreman nearly dragged the entire Texas Tech defense into the end zone in Saturday’s game at Jones AT&T Stadium. Yet his persistence ended in painful fashion when his near score somehow turned into a Red Raiders touchdown.

The Longhorns running back refused to give up on a 3rd-and-goal carry starting at the 24-yard line. Several defenders converged on him, but he trucked his way to the pylons.

Before Foreman could cross the goal line, Red Raiders defensive back Douglas Coleman snatched the ball from his hands, avoided a tackle and sprinted 100 yards the other way for a major game-changing touchdown.

Instead of Texas jumping ahead during the second-quarter sequence, Texas Tech expanded its lead to 23-14.

As Homer Simpson once said, “The lesson is, never try.”
