If you checked in on the Premier League this weekend, you probably noticed that all of the captain's armbands were identical — they were rainbow colored. In addition, the players wore rainbow shoelaces.
This was all part of an effort by the league to show support for the LGBT community. The rainbow laces campaign was launched in 2013 by Stonewall, a charity that fights for “equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people across Britain.”
