Outlet offers odds on Woods' retirement, Hero finish

For the second time this fall, Tiger Woods appears on the verge of making his return to competition. But if you think his time inside the ropes will be short-lived, there is now an opportunity to invest in that prediction.

Offshore betting outlet Bookmaker.eu has offered a myriad of betting options related to Woods’ return at the Hero World Challenge, where the 14-time major champ will tee it up in a tournament for the first time since Aug. 2015. But there is also an option to bet on whether Woods will announce his retirement from professional golf before Jan. 1, 2018.

The odds on such an announcement are +385, meaning a bettor would win $385 on a $100 wager. The odds of Woods still playing into 2018 and beyond are -485, meaning a $485 bet would yield $100.

Woods, who will turn 41 next month, appeared ready to return to the PGA Tour at the Safeway Open before abruptly withdrawing. His last start, a T-10 at the 2015 Wyndham Championship, was followed by a pair of back surgeries.
