Live updates on the biggest Week 10 injuries
The biggest name on the Week 10 injury report isn't expected to play.
For the first time this season, Tony Romo isn't listed as “out.” Instead, the Dallas Cowboys QB is officially “questionable” for Sunday's game at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Of course, he's not alone. With the fantasy playoffs just around the corner — and the real playoffs not far behind — the difference between a postseason berth and going home early could boil down to injuries. Here are the 20 biggest injuries you need to keep an eye on before your favorite team (or your fantasy squad) takes the field. Keep checking back right until kickoff for your live updates.
(Note: If a high-profile player does not appear below, that means he was not listed on his team's injury report and should be expected to play — or is on injured reserve. The NFL also removed the “probable” designation from injury reports this year; players are either “out,” “doubtful” or “questionable.”)
Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Jets (knee): Questionable
Fitzpatrick will be a game-time decision Sunday against the Rams, according to coach Todd Bowles. The Jets QB was limited in practice this week due to a sprained MCL in his left knee. Bowles will see how Fitzpatrick looks in pregame warmups before making the call. If Fitzpatrick can't go, Bryce Petty will start. — Daniel Popper, New York Daily News

Todd Gurley, RB, Rams (thigh): Questionable
Gurley was a full participant in practice on Friday and is expected to play against the Jets. While you're obviously starting him in fantasy if he's good to go, beware of New York's top-five defense against the run. The Rams' rushing struggles could continue. — Alden Gonzalez, ESPN.com

Julian Edelman, WR, Patriots (foot): Questionable

DeSean Jackson, WR, Redskins (shoulder): Doubtful
Jackson did not practice this week, but coach Jay Gruden told reporters he still could play on Sunday against Minnesota: “He knows the offense, he knows what to do and all that stuff, now it’s just a matter of how he’s feeling with the strength,” Gruden said. “We’ll see. He hasn’t had any practice this week which is not good, but when you’re a veteran like he is, you can make an exception from missing a practice from time to time.” — Redskins.com

Hunter Henry, TE, Chargers (knee): Questionable
Henry is expected to play Sunday against the Dolphins, although he'll be a game-time decision. The Chargers tight end missed Week 9 after playing through knee pain in Week 8 against the Broncos. — Michael Gehlken, San Diego Union-Tribune

Carlos Hyde, RB, 49ers (shoulder): Questionable
Hyde tested his sprained right shoulder in practice this week and sounds optimistic he'll be ready for Sunday at Arizona. “(I’m) a lot better this week than last week,” Hyde said Friday. “Today I participated in practice, and things went well. Things are headed in a good direction. … There’s a good chance I’ll be out there.” The 49ers are expected to make a decision on Hyde well in advance of kickoff against the Cardinals. — Joe Fann, 49ers.com
Jeremy Maclin, WR, Chiefs (groin): Out
Maclin aggravated a groin strain and exited Kansas City's Week 9 win over the Jaguars after just two snaps. Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters on Friday that Maclin will miss Sunday's game against the Panthers. On defense, linebacker Justin Houston isn't quite ready to make his return from the PUP list and will not be active. — Blair Kerkhoff, Kansas City Star

Eddie Royal, WR, Bears (toe): Questionable
Royal told reporters at practice this week that he hopes to be back on the field after missing Chicago's previous two games. He should be a game-time decision on Sunday against the Buccaneers. — Jeff Dickerson, ESPN.com
Christine Michael, RB, Seahawks (hamstring): Questionable
Michael, who has emerged as Seattle's best fantasy option at running back, was a late addition to the injury report after tweaking his hamstring at Friday's practice. If he is unable to go, rookie C.J. Prosise would start for the Seahawks. — Bob Condotta, Seattle Times

James Starks, RB, Packers (knee): Questionable
Starks will be a game-time decision for the Packers on Sunday against the Titans, but coach Mike McCarthy sounds optimistic about his running back's availability: “James is very close, and we'll see how [tight end] Jared [Cook] is come Saturday.” In addition, receiver Randall Cobb will have no injury limitations on Sunday, according to McCarthy. — Rob Demovsky, ESPN.com

Doug Martin, RB, Buccaneers (hamstring): Questionable
After participating fully in Friday's practice, Martin is expected to be a game-time decision Sunday against the Bears. The Bucs running back hasn't played since Week 2, but if you kept him on your fantasy roster, you could be in luck. Tampa Bay plays at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, so you'll have options in the late games if Martin is unavailable. — Greg Auman, Tampa Bay Times

Travis Benjamin, WR, Chargers (knee): Doubtful
While there's still a chance Benjamin could play Sunday against the Dolphins with a sprained posterior cruciate ligament suffered in Week 5, the Chargers receiver sounds like he's looking ahead to the bye week: “It affected me a lot because of the deep ball; I couldn’t go deep, so everything was short and intermediate. Just by catching the ball and getting in and out of my breaks, it made me slow my game down where I could use more technique than more speed. … (The bye) is going to be big for me, to get that extra week of rest.” — Michael Gehlken, San Diego Union-Tribune
Tevin Coleman, RB, Falcons (hamstring): Out
Although the Falcons hoped Coleman would be ready for Sunday's game at Philadelphia, the team officially ruled out the running back on Friday. Coach Dan Quinn told reporters that Coleman was close, but that he needs to be 100 percent healthy given his style of play. Coleman's absence should mean a heavy workload for Devonta Freeman, which is good news for fantasy players. — Falcons.com
Victor Cruz, WR, Giants (ankle): Questionable
Cruz did not practice Thursday or Friday, but coach Ben McAdoo indicated he will be a game-time decision for Monday night against the Bengals. “We'll take it day by day,” McAdoo told reporters. The Giants receiver has just one TD catch on the season and has yet to reach 100 receiving yards in a game. — James Kratch, NJ.com

Aqib Talib, CB, Broncos (back): Out
Talib was ruled out Friday for the third consecutive game. Last week, he needed a second opinion and an injection in his lower back. The Broncos also will be without defensive end Derek Wolfe on Sunday against Drew Brees and the Saints. — DenverBroncos.com

Martellus Bennett, TE, Patriots (ankle): Questionable
Bennett has nursed a sore ankle for a few weeks now. While his production has dropped a bit, that has more to do with the return of Rob Gronkowski than Bennett's injury. You can expect him to play, although New England's late Sunday night game against the Seahawks means you'll be in a bind if he does sit. — Patriots.com

Tyrann Mathieu, S, Cardinals (shoulder): Out
Despite Mathieu initially being expected to miss three to six weeks, Arizona coach Bruce Arians told reporters this week the Cardinals safety was close to a return and could play against the 49ers. Instead, he'll miss at least one more week. “He got close; he's just not quite strong enough yet,” Arians said Friday, adding when asked how long Mathieu might remain out, “Who knows? We'll wait and see until the thing is really solid.” — Bob McManaman, Arizona Republic
Tony Romo, QB, Cowboys (back): Questionable
Romo is reportedly healthy enough to play but is not expected to be active for the Cowboys' game at the Steelers in Week 10. — Todd Archer, ESPN.com
Clay Matthews, LB, Packers (hamstring): Out
Matthews will miss his third consecutive game with a hamstring injury as the Packers face the Titans on Sunday. He was nearing a return to action last week before suffering a setback prior to Green Bay's Week 9 loss to the Colts. — Rob Demovsky, ESPN.com

Brent Celek, TE, Eagles (ribs): Questionable
Despite suffering a broken rib in Week 9 against the Giants, Celek is expected to make his 58th consecutive start and 151st appearance in 152 possible career games on Sunday against Minnesota. “He should be good for the game,” head coach Doug Pederson said in ho-hum fashion. — Tim McManus, ESPN.com
