Truck Series Championship 4
And then there were four.
Friday night at Phoenix International Raceway, the field of four drivers who will race for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship next week at Homestead-Miami Speedway was finally set.
The format for the championship couldn’t be simpler: All four drivers will enter the final race tied in points. Whichever driver finishes ahead of the other three at Homestead will be the new Truck Series champion.

Timothy Peters
Peters came into the race as the first driver outside the Chase cutoff, but a strong run at Phoenix allowed him to advance and race for a championship for the first time. He finished second in 2012 and has five top-five points finishes in his career.

Christopher Bell
Another rookie Kyle Busch Motorsports driver, Bell has not been able to match Byron in victories, but he’s had a solid first year nevertheless. And now, he’ll have a chance to race for a championship.

Matt Crafton
The two-time Truck Series champion is the only one of the four drivers left in the hunt who has actually won a title. While his performance as been somewhat eclipsed by Sauter and the KBM teammates, he’s always dangerous.
Johnny Sauter
The veteran Sauter won the first two races of the Round of 6, at Martinsville Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway. On the season, Sauter has three victories, 10 top fives and 17 top 10s. Five times Sauter has finished in the top five in Truck Series points, with a best of second in 2011. He’s hungry for his first title.
