Jon Lester jokes about the MLB rule change that didn’t make the new CBA

Jon Lester is thrilled that Major League Baseball players and owners avoided a lockout by agreeing to a new collective bargaining agreement Wednesday night. However, the Cubs’ lefty didn’t get every concession he was hoping for in the deal.

Lester, of course, struggles with pickoff throws to first base (and even throws to first base on come-backers). So much so that opposing runners often take huge leads off first base, daring him to throw over.

The union and owners will return to the bargaining table in five years for the next CBA, so Lester has plenty of time to lobby for the change – or to simply work on his pickoff move.
