At this point, nothing ridiculous involving J.R. Smith surprises us — from going shirtless for 72 straight hours through the Cleveland Cavaliers’ championship parade, to untying opponents’ shoes. Anything he does just reinforces the sentiment that J.R. Smith is going to J.R. Smith, and there is nothing any of us can do to stop it.
On Tuesday night at Milwaukee, J.R. wrote yet another chapter in his glorious career novel as he decided to take a play off to say what’s up to Bucks guard Jason Terry over by the team’s bench. While the act itself is harmless, Smith decided to do it during live action, conceding a wide-open dunk to the man he was supposed to be defending, Tony Snell.
Never change, J.R. Smith. You are perfect just the way you are.
UPDATE: J.R., following the loss, was asked about the play described above.
His response? Nothing short of perfection.
