Computer Love: San Antonio Spurs Edition
On Monday, Gregg Popovich was asked by reporters if he still picks Tim Duncan's brain when strategizing for upcoming opponents.
Sufficed to say, Pop's answer was both the most and least surprising:
“Oh sure,” Popovich said. “We're like in love. We text each other all the time.”
Does he send Duncan emojis?
“Only the kissy ones.”
This is a prime Popovich trust-fall of an answer, but instead of laughing it off, I wanted to dig further.
Do these two really text often? And if so, what are the contents of these missives?
What do two men who tapped out on technological development after the invention of the non-iron dress shirt actually talk about when they use their phone-puters machines to correspond?
With this in mind, I traveled to the deep web to seek help in … investigating this matter, and after a lot of Bitcoin jangling and two hand-to-hand McGriddle exchanges, I received a packet of eight, definitely-not-Photoshopped-by-myself text message exchanges between Tim Duncan and Gregg Popovich.
They are predictably adorable. And JPEG laden.
