Ashok using Annika's ex-caddie at Q-School

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Aditi Ashok will have some special help as she tries to extend her fairy-tale-like success at LPGA Q-School this week.

India’s Olympic darling will have Terry McNamara on her bag as caddie.

McNamara was the long-time caddie to Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam, and now he’s the regular caddie for Spain’s Carlota Ciganda, who broke through to win her first two LPGA titles this fall.

“I played with Carlota at the Sime Darby in Malaysia this fall,” Ashok said. “She asked me who I had lined up as a caddie for Q-School, and I said I didn’t have anyone. She told me, `Take Terry, he’s the best.’”

Ashok accepted the gift. Ashok, the 18-year-old from India, made international news in golf tying for a share of the second-round lead in the Olympic women’s golf competition in Rio de Janeiro. She followed that up with back-to-back victories as a Ladies European Tour rookie in her last two starts, including one in her India homeland.
