
The democratic process at work!
The Chicago Cubs' World Series win touched a lot of people.
Of course, the were the Cubs fans, who watched their team break the century-plus drought and partied like the world was on the edge of imminent and irreversible doom (a most joyous, last-hurrah-of-humanity type of doom but, you know, still doom).
Then there were just…people—people who think the Cubs' rapid turnaround over the last few years has been nothing short of miraculous. And some of these people are of the opinion that if you can fix the Cubs, you should at least get a shot at fixing the nation.
So don't be surprised if you're going through poll results and stumble upon Theo Epstein's name. Judging by social media, more than a few people wrote in the Cubs' president of baseball operations for president at the polls on Election Day, or at least claimed to.
Weirdly, I don't think most were joking:
