The 2018 NCAA tournament gets underway officially Tuesday night with the first two games of the First Four, with 68 teams paring down to 64 over the course of two days at UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio (6:40 p.m. ET, truTV).

The first game will feature the Long Island Blackbirds facing the Radford Highlanders in a battle for the No. 16 seed in the East Region, playing for the right to face top-seed Villanova in Thursday’s first round.

The Blackbirds were just 15-16 during the regular season but won three games in the Northeast tournament to capture the conference’s automatic bid, including wins over better-seeded St. Francis and Wagner.

Radford (22-12, 12-6) finished second in the Big South during the regular season then ran the table during the conference tournament, ending with a pair of wins on their home court in Virginia. Radford punched its ticket with a buzzer-beating three from Carlik Jones on March 4 against Liberty.

The Highlanders enter Tuesday on a seven-game winning streak and are in their first NCAA tournament in nine years.

LIU-Brooklyn has its seventh trip to March Madness and first since 2013.

In the nightcap, the UCLA Bruins and St. Bonaventure Bonnies will battle for the No. 11 seed in the East Region, with No. 6 seed Florida waiting in the first round on Thursday.

Spero Dedes will call play-by-play for both games on Tuesday for truTV alongside analysts Steve Smith and Len Elmore and reporter Ros Gold-Onwude. Online streaming for both games can be found through truTV Live and NCAA March Madness Live.
