Dana White on Conor McGregor vs. Anderson Silva: ‘I don’t like that fight at all’

43-year-old Anderson Silva showed MMA fans on Saturday night that he is still worthy to face elite fighters such as Israel Adesanya. The former long-time middleweight champion is also seemingly willing to put retirement on hold, and take another fight at UFC 237 in Curitiba, Brazil on May 11th.

It is an idea that UFC president Dana White is on board with.

“Yes, definitely possible,” White told reporters during a post-fight media scrum. “We’re still working on that card. Tuesday, we’ll have a matchmaking meeting, and I’ll have to look at it and figure it out.”

One of the matchups for Silva that immediately surfaced right after the fight was against Conor McGregor, who came forward with a very cordial challenge via Twitter.

When asked about it, White was actually baffled, and immediately shut it down.

“Did he really? No, I don’t like that fight at all,” White said with a laugh, without elaborating his response.

The only announced fight for UFC 237, so far, is the strawweight title matchup between Rose Namajunas and Jessica Andrade.
